About Jordan River Commission

The Jordan River Commission was created upon the signing of an interlocal cooperation agreement among three counties, seven cities, the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District in August 2010. The Commission was created to implement the concepts and projects outlined in the Blueprint Jordan River, to serve as a technical resource to local communities, and to provide a forum for interlocal coordination of planning, restoration, and responsible development along the river corridor.

Beneath the Wasatch Mountains flows a ribbon of life, the Jordan River. From Utah Lake to the Great Salt Lake, this waterway has sustained plants, animals, and people for thousands of years. Its story is one of change, challenge, and ultimately, of hope.

In 2008, city and community leaders came together and with the help of Envision Utah, they developed the Blueprint Jordan River. Learn more about the history and future of the river in This is JRC.
